STAIND Guitarist Interviewed By ExploreMusic (Video)
September 15, 2011Mike Sulivan of ExploreMusic recently conducted an interview with guitarist Mike Mushok of Massachusetts rockers STAIND. You can now watch the chat below.
STAIND plays a special show on Thursday (September 15) at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. As previously reported, tickets will be priced at $9.11 and all proceeds will benefit the families of 9/11 victims. Singer Aaron Lewis told The Pulse Of Radio that watching a program on TV Sunday night (September 11) about the attacks made that day hit home for him again. "It was bringing up all sorts of, like, anxiety in both me and my wife, just sitting there watching it again," he said. "Not that I had forgotten, but I certainly won't forget what happened."
Lewis said in a statement announcing the show, "We are deliberately making the ticket price $9.11 to underscore the point that if enough of us do just a little bit, together we can make a big difference in the lives of the families whose members made the supreme sacrifice for our country."
STAIND's self-titled new album came out Tuesday (September 13) and follows up the band's 2008 effort, "The Illusion Of Progress".
The disc is likely to sell between 40,000 and 45,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double.
Lewis recently told Billboard.com that the new STAIND album was the most difficult one the group has ever made, calling the process "trying and tumultuous."
The band members eventually worked in separate locations, with minimal contact, and drummer Jon Wysocki left the band after the project was finished.
STAIND filmed a documentary about the making of the record which will be included on the deluxe CD/DVD edition.
